On March 21-23, 2025, the "2025Environmental Professional Engineering Education Continuous ImprovementSeminar" jointly sponsored by the Environmental Professional CertificationCommittee, the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences and Taiyuan Universityof Technology was held in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. Professor ZhangChenglong, Vice Dean of Teaching, Professor Guan Jie, Head of EnvironmentalEngineering, Professor Guo Yaoguang, Professor Zhuang Xuning, AssociateProfessor Ma En of Department of Environmental Engineering, Associate ProfessorGu Weihua of Experimental Center, Associate Professors Wang Ruixue and ZhaoJing of Department of Applied Chemistry attended the seminar.
The environmental engineering specialty ofour school passed the certification of engineering education specialty in 2022,and submitted the Report on Continuous Improvement of Engineering EducationCertification at the end of 2024. At the invitation of the EnvironmentalProfessional Certification Committee, Professor Guan Jie, the head of theenvironmental engineering discipline, titled "Construction and Practice ofContinuous Improvement of Environmental Engineering ProfessionalCertification", from "Introduction to School and Discipline","Problems and Improvements Raised in this Round of Certification","Improvement and Operation of Internal Evaluation Mechanism" and"Other Improvements Needing to be Explained" Four other aspectsreported to the conference the continuous improvement of the environmentalengineering major of our school in the past three years, which continued to be"student-centered" and "output oriented", and was highlypraised by the experts present at the conference and relevant brother colleges.
The college attaches great importance toprofessional engineering education certification. Environmental engineering isthe first major that has passed certification in our school, and will continueto carry out continuous improvement work in accordance with the requirements ofengineering education certification to promote high-quality talenttraining. The environmental protection equipment engineering specialty appliedfor engineering certification in 2022, accepted the application in 2023, passedthe self-evaluation work in 2024, and will welcome the entrance inspection thisyear. The applied chemistry specialty has also revised the talent trainingprogram, curriculum syllabus and graduation requirements in accordance with therequirements of engineering education certification. This discussion andexchange is helpful to find out the shortcomings and weaknesses in theimplementation of engineering education talent training in our environmentalspecialty, so as to carry out continuous improvement work, and has importantguiding significance for improving the quality of engineering applied talenttraining.
