On October 26, the National StandardizationAdministration of China issued the national standard announcement. The nationalstandard Measurement of Compressive Strength of Particles (GB/T 44750-2024),which was developed under the leadership of Dr. Tian Zhen from the School ofResources and Environmental Engineering of our university, was approved andissued by the State Market Supervision Administration and the NationalStandardization Administration. The standard was jointly drafted byShanghai Second University of Technology, Henan Changxing Industry Co., Ltd.,Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other units.

The compressive strength of particles isone of the basic physical properties of particles. The compressivestrength of particles directly affects the transmission and reaction rate ofmedia in particles, the service life of particles and other properties, and isan important indicator for the selection of transportation and storage methodsand the design of process parameters. The implementation of this standardis of great significance to correctly measure the compressive strength ofparticles and ensure the good performance of particles. The standard willbe officially implemented on May 1, 2025.
