In order to further improve the academiclevel and innovation ability of graduate students, build a platform foracademic exchange of graduate students, and give full play to the incentiverole of national scholarships. In the afternoon of September 25, 2024, theCollege of Resources and Environmental Engineering held a defense reviewmeeting for the national graduate scholarship in Room 200, Building26. Professor Wang Jifen, Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Professor Zheng Chunli, Vice President of School of Resources and Environmental Engineering,Professor Jin Huiming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, supervisorrepresentatives, counselor representatives and student representatives attendedthe meeting as reviewers, and the postgraduate teaching secretary attended themeeting. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Ren Kexi, Director of the StudentAffairs Office.

At the oral defense meeting, the sixcandidates presented their academic achievements, scientific researchcompetitions, social practices and other aspects to the judges. With fullenthusiasm and self-confidence, the candidates demonstrated their achievementsand experience in academic research and social practice, and demonstrated theacademic style and innovative spirit of the graduate students of School of Resources and Environmental Engineering. The evaluation experts made in-depth questions and comments onthe candidates' display content, and put forward many valuable opinions andsuggestions, which benefited the students present.

After the defense, the evaluation expertgroup, based on the principles of openness, fairness and impartiality, scoredthe defense according to the defense situation, and combined with academicachievements and ideas, proposed to select the recommended candidates for the2023-2024 academic year graduate student national scholarship, namely TengChengyao, Chen Simiao and Chen Yunyan.

The National Scholarship Defense Conferencenot only provides a platform for excellent graduate students to showthemselves, but also is a concentrated demonstration of the graduate studenttraining achievements of the Institute of Resources and Environment, whichencourages the majority of graduate students to pursue excellence and strive tobecome outstanding young people in the new era, and has made positivecontributions to building a good style of study and academic atmosphere.
