In order to further popularize and consolidate the knowledge of laboratory safety, promote the concept of life first, safety first, and avoid the occurrence of laboratory safety accidents, the final of the 13th Green Cup Comprehensive Chemistry Knowledge Contest (Laboratory Safety Session) was held in the Lecture Hall on the third floor of the Graphic and Information Center of Shanghai Polytechnic University on Nov. 30, 2010 in which the final of the Laboratory Safety Session was held. On November 30, the final of the 13th Green Cup Comprehensive Chemistry Knowledge Contest (Laboratory Safety Session) was held in the Auditorium on the third floor of the University Graphic and Information Center. Vice President Xu Yufa, Heads of Assets and Laboratory Management Department, Academic Affairs Department, Student Affairs Department, School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Engineering Training and Innovation Education Center and other related officials witnessed the competition together with the audience.
Xu Yufa emphasized in his speech that university laboratories are important bases for experimental teaching, scientific research and training of innovative talents, and that the safety management of laboratories must be unremitting. In the pursuit of practical innovation and scientific research achievements at the same time, safety should also strive for excellence, the pursuit of excellence. We hope that through the competition, we can apply the safety knowledge and techniques we have acquired to our daily teaching, research and learning process, remind ourselves to abide by the safety norms, consciously develop safety habits, and jointly promote the construction of a safety culture in the university.
The finalists had to go through 4 rounds of compulsory answer, robbing answer, teamwork and optional answer. After a fierce competition, finally, Zhu Yinyi was awarded the first prize, Wu Jiahui and Song Mingshan were awarded the second prize, and Xie Yurui, Wang Tao and Tian Asia were awarded the third prize.
The knowledge competition, with laboratory safety as its theme, reached nearly 1,000 people from the preliminary to the final round. The school aims to further publicize and popularize the knowledge of laboratory safety among teachers and students through the competition, to create a cultural atmosphere of safe experimentation, to strengthen the awareness of safety, to enhance the ability to protect, to practice the safety guidelines, and to jointly create a safe and orderly campus environment.
